Intern-to-AAE Experience Sharing

by
Sin Yee Tsao

I started working as an intern at FleishmanHillard in March 2016 and joined the company full time as an Assistant Account Executive in June. I’d like to share four things that I’ve learnt since starting work here.

Sharing is Caring

Sharing is deeply imbedded in the company culture. During staff meetings, we often share innovative campaign ideas and insights which can spark creativity and inspire others. This enables us as a company to think boldly and be one step ahead. I have gained invaluable inspiration and knowledge of the latest trends and PR strategies from my colleagues.

Professional Training Matters

The incredible pace of change and innovation in the new world of PR makes constant learning essential. FleishmanHillard holds a weekly training programme, featuring a combination of monthly regional webinars with workshops targeted at specific levels and needs. The focus on continuous education and professional development has really fed my curiosity.

Strong Team Spirit

I am touched and impressed by the unconditional support from my team. FleishmanHillard has a strong feedback culture. My colleagues provide me with plenty of guidance and constructive feedback which enables me to improve my work, ready for my next task.

Striving for Perfection
I would like to use a quote by Thomas Jefferson: “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” My colleagues don’t just work hard, they devote themselves to their accounts to make sure they deliver their best work to them. It is not just about getting the job done, it’s about striving for perfection in the best interests of our clients.

To sum up, I have been given ample opportunities to integrate into the company, develop all-round skills and earn valuable exposure to the PR world. I am delighted to have the opportunity to build a career at FleishmanHillard.
