RISE – Web Summit’s Venture into Asia

RISE

There was a lot of hype when Web Summit announced its first-ever event in Asia Pacific. RISE 2015 inaugurated in Hong Kong last month as a sold-out conference, gathering the innovation and technology sector’s brightest for face-to-face interaction and networking. High-profile tech founders, high-potential start-ups and top international investors included Sequoia Capital, GGV Capital, 500 Startups, Stripe, Amazon, Line and 9GAG, among others.

RISE

FleishmanHillard’s Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director of Global Client Relations, Stephanie Marchesi, was invited to go on stage with Nathan Huey of SoftLayer, an IBM company, to explore how future advertising, public relations and marketing agencies will evolve with the rapid change in storytelling and content creation. Our senior consultant Simon Harrison also had a conversation with Jeffrey Huang from 17 Media to explore the power of social engagement in today’s society.

RISE

What turned RISE into Asia’s most exciting global innovation event was its prioritization of networking opportunities on the floor as well as a series of Night Summits and official pub crawls, giving entrepreneurs the perfect opportunity to mingle with investors across the region. With 5,000 attendees from 72 countries, including a glamorous list of 140 speakers, 300 investors, 225 media and 525 startups, RISE was a huge success, and the turnout for next year is expected to double.
